About Robert

Born 1951. I produced my first oil painting at six years old. After serving in the US marine Corps in Vietnam and two years in Franciscan Monastery: I was educated at U.C. Berkeley in Architectural and Structural Engineering and California College of the Arts in painting, sculpture and illustration. Fascinated by Asian Art and Classic Japanese Horimono tattooing, I entered tattooing in 1978. Beginning with C.W. Eldridge at the Tattoo Archive in Berkeley Ca. Working in many tattoo shops over the years including Goldfields Tattoo Shop and Pat Martynuik’s Picture Machine. In 2003 I opened my own studio “ Blue Rose Tattoo” in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho.
